This week’s lesson featured an electrical engineering lab utilizing Arduino microcontrollers. Thanks to a guest lecture by graduate student and Penn TA Joe Travato, students learned about Ohm’s Law, logic gates and basic C programming. Students learned how to use multimeters to analyze various electronic components such as photo resistors before utilizing these parts to make a blinking light circuit. Students who were able to quickly master the basic concepts in the lab were able to make a series of blinking LEDs as well as receiving a brief introduction to the concepts behind voltage dividers.
